The closing IMETS conference took place in Kraków on 10 – 11 December 2021 and onlin. The aim of the conference is to present the main results of the project, including the IMETS examination papers that have been developed to test English for Medical Purposes (EMP) in a computer-based setting. The conference was held in a blended format due to the fact that COVID-19 restrictions were still active in some partner countries.

The session was chaired by the polish project coordinator who provided a general overview of the International Medical English Testing System to the participants. Then the partner countries described in detail their involvement and main responsibilities  in the project.

On Friday, 10 December 2021  the process of the IMETS exams development and assessment were discussed and the following sessions were dedicated to the professionals involved in the English for Medical Purposes exams development and assessment.

On Saturday 11 December 2021 the International Medical English Testing System from the perspective of the IMETS exam takers were presented. Health care professionals and students interested in assessing their language skills for medical purposes took part in the sessions. 3 workshops were organized (IMETS speaking examination, reading paper mock examination and Organising exam centres) and EMP specialists and stakeholders as well as students and professionals were involved.

Finally the future of the online assessment and the online platform were discussed among the participants.
