STEP project – The 2nd European worlshop is coming! Join us online

We are thrilled to announce that the journey of the STEP Project continues! After the success of our initial local meetings, we are excited to bridge borders digitally and keep our community thriving.

From March 16th to 18th, 2026, seniors and adult educators from across Europe—Germany, Italy, Greece, and France—will come together online for three inspiring days of meaningful exchange and digital upskilling.

In today’s world, social media is more than just “tech”—it is a gateway to staying in touch with family, finding communities of like-minded hobbyists, and participating in modern society. However, navigating this landscape requires confidence and a critical eye.

This 3-day webinar, titled “Digital Literacy: Social Media,” is specifically designed to transform “digital strangers” into “digital citizens.”

Day 1: Connecting to PLACE

We start with the basics: What is social media really about? From setting up secure profiles on Facebook or WhatsApp to understanding timelines and privacy settings, we focus on creating a safe personal space online.

Day 2: Connecting to the COMMUNITY

Have you ever wondered why you see certain posts and not others? We demystify algorithms and their role in shaping our perception. Participants will discuss how algorithm influence their perceptions, learning how their past activity influences their current feed.

Day 3: Connecting to the TOPIC

The final day focuses on cyberthreats, discussing how to recognize “red flags”,spotting scams, and understanding the challenges of fake news and deepfakes. Educators will also explore the EU DigComp framework to better support senior learners in their local workshops.

One of the highlights of this event is the national workshop showcase. Each country team will have the floor to share their local success stories about Module 2- Digital literacy as part of the STEP training curriculum:

  • Seniors will share their experiences and the challenges they’ve overcome.
  • Adult Educators will discuss pedagogical tools and what worked best in their classrooms.

Are you ready to take the next step in your digital journey? Whether you are a senior learner looking to pursue your passions safely or an educator seeking international best practices, we invite you to be part of this exchange.
