In the scope of the DevComp project (Development of sustainability, digital technologies and social activism competences at Kaunas-TAU), three representatives of Kaunas Third Age University and Training 2000 met for the first time on in Fano on the 26th-28th September 2022. The meeting was organized in preparation of the training event that will be held in October in the same venue. The meeting revolved around the three learning areas that will be explored by TAU trainers through the lead of Training 2000 as hosting partner the following month.
Basing on the hosting partner’s expertise on andragogy and e-learning methodologies, the Lithuanian partners got acquainted with some key topics related to ICT and sustainability that could be useful for the future trainees in terms of teaching and validating senior students at KAUNAS-TAU. As agreed, the overall objective is the development of new skills for senior educators and students. The partners were showed how to operate in a new digital learning environment like Moodle, one of the most popular LMS. The first session focused on the enhancement of the digital competences to support seniors’ daily activities and improve the quality of their lives. The second session focused on organic farming and related strategies to improve seniors’ quality of life through more nutrient-dense foods. Finally, Training 2000 shared its expertise on sustainability core concepts and daily practices to be used in October.
All these aspects contain civic engagement as a common thread which will be pivotal to make seniors interact with other community members effectively
The partners will continue to work on the training content to implement a well-designed learning path for the incoming trainers.
