On August 1 2024, a group of enthusiastic VET teachers, trainers and experts from Turkey, Italy, Macedonia, Slovakia and Portugal gathered today for the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ “Future Learning in Vocational Education using Innovative Drone Technology (FLIGHT)” project. The partnership is formed by:
- Darıca provincial directorate of national education (coordinator)
- Sucessos Criativos (Portugal)
- Gebze Technical University (Turkey)
- Training 2000 (Italy)
- The General Directorate of Water and Sewerage Administration of Gaziantep ( Turkey)
- The Regional Center for Vocational Education and Training “Kiro Burnaz” ( Macedonia)
- The Secondary Technical School of Civil Engineering of Hurbanovo (Slovakia)
The initiative aims to equip Vocational Education and Training (VET) teachers and students with the necessary skills to thrive in the rapidly evolving drone industry.
The FLIGHT project will provide comprehensive training on drone technology and will involve trainers and practicioners interested in drone application in 5 domains:
- Construction
- Disaster Response
- Environmental Protecion
- Enhancing Water Supply
- Agriculture
The project aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that VET students graduate with the practical skills demanded by the modern workforce in partners’ country and , once finalized, in Europe. During the meeting, project partners outlined their roles and responsibilities, established timelines, and discussed strategies for achieving the project’s goals. The event also served as a platform for networking and knowledge sharing among the participants.
FLIGHT is expected to have a significant impact on the VET sector, preparing a new generation of skilled professionals to contribute to the growth in different industy.
