Withing the scope of the Co-Create:EcoTrade project, the first Learning, Teaching & Training Activity (LTTA) was held in Karditsa, Greece under the fantastic coordination of Dracon Rules Design Studio.
Educators, trainers, and students from Instituto Técnico de Miranda (Spain), Training 2000 (Italy), and Dracon Rules Design Studio (Greece) gathered to collaborate intensively on the development of the first prototype of an innovative educational board game.
Over the course of the co-creation workshop, participants explored key themes including:
- Core competences of international trade curricula. The Ecotrade board game simulates core aspects of international trade, such as negotiating deals, managing supply chains, and complying with trade regulations.
- Game-based learning in Vocational Education and Training (VET). By learning through play, VET students experience complex concepts (e.g., trade-offs, logistics choices, sustainability goals) in a tangible and memorable way.
- Ecological trade decisions and green transport. Players must weigh the economic benefits of traditional trade routes and production methods against the environmental costs.
The event was not only focused on productive workshops and brainstorming sessions but also enriched by cultural experiences. Attendees had the chance to visit Meteora, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site, immersing themselves in Greece’s rich cultural heritage.
This first LTTA has laid a solid foundation for the next steps in the project as the team moves forward to refine the game and prepare for first pilot testing phase. A second LTTA will be then organized in Miranda del Ebro, Spain by Instituto Técnico de Miranda (ITM), the project coordinator, where VET teachers and students will test the the EcoTrade Board game together.
