On September 3rd 2025, the Net0Manager final conference, titled “Net Zero in 2050… and How to Get There,” was held in Brussels as part of the SME2B Business Forum Europe 2025. This milestone event, coordinated by Training 2000, highlighted practical tools and best practices empowering SMEs to take concrete steps toward climate neutrality, in line with the “Carbon Management Training course for entrepreneurs of a net zero tomorrow” (Net0Manager) EU-funded project (https://www.net0manager.eu/)
The event focused on practical steps businesses can take today to reach the Net Zero goals by mid-century. The event showcased how small and medium enterprises can take concrete steps towards climate neutrality by leveraging professional support and innovative solutions.
Kylene De Angelis, CEO of Training 2000 and Senior Project Manager of Net0Manager, presented the project’s outcomes, emphasizing the training toolkit, online platform, and micro-credential courses developed to help SMEs incorporate sustainability into their strategic management. This EU-funded initiative equips managers with essential skills to lead their companies on the sustainability journey.
The conference featured inspiring success stories from SME leaders from Germany, Portugal, Spain, Poland and other countries who participated in the Net0Manager program:
- Christian Fastenrath, CEO of dategro IT, explained how proper data management can simultaneously reduce carbon footprints and operational costs, highlighting an immediate return on investment.
- Heinrich Sülzle, Managing Partner of SÜLZLE Gruppe, stressed the importance of embedding sustainability at the core of business, sharing a circular economy project linking waste management with the petrochemical industry to close resource loops.
- Florian Breipohl, CEO of EnerKite GmbH, presented advanced green technology using airborne wind energy to cut electricity costs by half and reduce emissions by 90%, demonstrating how decentralized sustainable power boosts SME competitiveness.
The event brought together entrepreneurs, policymakers, scholars, and industry leaders from across Europe to exchange insights on achieving climate neutrality. As the project draws to a close, Training 2000 and the Net0Manager consortium remain committed to supporting SMEs with the knowledge, tools, and networks necessary for a sustainable and competitive future well beyond 2050.
