Leonardo da Vinci II – “A1 for Jobs” – 2004-2006 |
Training 2000 has been awarded public funds from the European Commission Leonardo Da Vinci programme to help disadvantaged people return to work.
Leonardo “A1 for Jobs” is a pilot programme which links Training 2000 to the promoter of the programme Edinburgh University Settlement (UK) and other partners from Bulgaria, Greece, and Finland. Its key aim is to help disadvantaged people take a more active part in economic, social and cultural life by tailoring their education to the needs of local employers.
In pursuing this goal, the programme will test computer-based learning packages targeting skill shortages in areas such as finance, administration, tourism and hospitality.
It is hoped that by 2007, when the programme draws to a close, there will be better awareness of the added value offered to disadvantaged people in the labour market.
Massimo Domenicucci, AMNIC and Flavio Nucci, sociologist, underline: “This is an interesting project which throughout this partnership, will help disadvantaged people attain their goals right across Europe. It foresees the involvement of various social and training actors which operate in public and private institutions, in sectorial associations and in the social private sector which interact with different competences and have created a network on the territory for activities apt to facilitate and support the insertion into the labour market of people identified in the project as disadvantaged”. |
